In America, sexual education is not taught until one hits their teens, if they are taught at all. It’s no surprise that American men are left to their own devices, subconsciously learning about sex through porn and the media. The latest law passed in France where excessively skinny models need to prove their health is a testament to that. But when you’re surrounded by American media, filled with Barbie dolls, waif skinny models and Baywatch breasts, the idea of what ‘beauty’ is becomes skewed. European men have a quiet confidence, a demeanor that doesn’t need to scream out loud to prove themselves. The dating culture involves trying out many different options at the same time. They grow up developing friendships with the opposite sex and in turn, develop more empathy and understanding of the opposite sex.
The American way is loud and even arrogant at times. Call it the revolving door or hedging – there’s the idea in the American approach to dating that there’s always something better around the corner.
With European men, if there’s mutual interest, they keep seeing that person and don’t keep hunting for better options simultaneously. Nor will they freak out when discussions of commitment or future come up.
What’s more important is which club he will go to with his girlfriend that night and which he will go to by himself. A man will look for a woman who is intelligent, independent, caring and someone who will challenge him to be better.
An Egyptian man looks for a glorified pet, a woman that will heel and sit on command who looks good in a tight dress (not too short). When a man meets a women he will make the effort to get to know her properly, take her out on an actual date to a restaurant or for a coffee.
Now, when I discuss the differences between European and American, I’m referring to a mindset. American men on the other hand, tend to be goal oriented, with the aim of getting laid.
You can very well be born in America but have a more “European” mindset and vice versa. Perhaps this ‘score mentality’ is for bragging rights, perhaps it’s for validation so they can feel wanted and desired, or perhaps it’s a pure ego play.
Last week, we noticed an article circulating the interwebz about the difference between dating a girl and dating a woman, and we had our own go at spotting the differences between dating a woman and dating an Egyptian woman. An Egyptian man is still living with his parents and spent his university days trying to be the most with a lifetime of free drinks and entrance. Following up on that, a man plans for his future and realises he needs to have a foundation for a family one day.
An Egyptian man is an extreme bad ass and does not need to worry about such frivolities.
An Egyptian man will start a fight with any man who so much tries to talk to his woman when they’re out.
He will then all over the woman and may even get physical. A man uses social media as either a tool for work, or to keep in touch with distant friends or not at all.
They are also raised with strong family and community values, so there is a sense of responsibility and accountability for others, not just for the self.
