On Friday 14 July, there was a special Montreal Owners brunch at 10h00, followed by a fun 'Gimmick Rally', set to include many of the wonderful landmarks of Montreal, including a (slow speed) driving tour of the Formula One track, several great photo opportunities, and both city and country driving.
In the evening, there was a traditional Quebec-style cook-out, featuring live music and meats and vegetables cooked over coals outdoors. Saturday 15 July was a day for selecting from a range of interesting driving tours, enjoying some track time at a local racetrack (time trials), or for your own independent tours and activities in the city.
The 2018 Montreal meeting, which is being organised by Rob Jones, Graham Gilgrass and Bob Jones, will be held in the region of Inveraray in Argyll, Scotland, from 6 to 9 September.
The venue will be the 4-star Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa, ideally situated with uninterrupted views of Loch Fyne and beyond to the Cowal Hills.
Although they are relatively rare in North America, 12 Montreals participated in the meeting. Pre-convention Alfa driving tours began in Kingston Ontario on Monday 10 July, and ended at the hotel in Montreal on Wednesday 12 July in the afternoon.
These tours included sightseeing and stops at many unique and interesting Canadian landmarks. Thursday 13 July included an Autocross (solo racing with cones) for those so inclined, or you could use the day to enjoy some of the available pre-arranged tours and activities in the city.
